2015 Year in Review

So it’s that time of the year again, one which has ended and another which is set to begin.

Before I start I just want to point out that I actually have never done one of these types of posts before.

I guess I’m thinking it may be worth doing them from here on end, not only as a way to provide you with an inside look on how the ThemeChills brand is evolving, but also as a way to hold me accountable and keep track of my goals for the upcoming year.

With that being said, here we go…

Introducing Eternity – A Beautiful Wedding Website Template

So it’s finally here, my update on my latest website template. Last week I submitted Eternity, my wedding site template to ThemeForest…

After two days of waiting and a lot of browser refreshing (which is really not needed as I get notified by email anyway), I got the news that my template was approved and ready for sale.

Creating a Landing Page and Getting Approved

Well I have some great news!

Reprise landing page is now approved. If you want to check it out you can, by going to my ThemeForest item description page.

I actually received my approval email on March 13, 2013, however due to one thing or another I was unable to publish the news until now.

The template has started off nicely, and I’ll share with you the stats in this blog post below.

Before I do, let’s recap on what we’ve gone through so far.

Creating a Landing Page: Documentation, Submission and Review

So we are finally approaching the conclusion of the “Creating a Landing Page” series. I want for this to series to serve you as a guide when you are submitting your next template to the marketplace – whether you are an experienced author or just getting started, both can benefit from all this information.

Let’s move on now though so you can learn the final stages of getting your theme or template approved.

Creating a Landing Page: Frameworks, Polish and More

So I can finally do the big reveal…well…sort of….

In this post I am going to give you a quick preview of the finished version of the Reprise landing page. I’d like to show you the full kit and kaboodle, but at the same time I wan’t to save you some of the real thing for when it’s actually live!

Let’s Recap First…

So far in the series I have shared with you the following:

Today I’m going to go over how I decided to use one specific popular framework over all the others, as well as how I go about “putting the polish” into the templates and themes I create.

So let’s get going… shall we?

Creating a Landing Page: The Concept

Following on from the last post where I talked about how I get inspiration by creating mood boards, I would now like to share with you how I go about creating the concept of my templates.

There are various ways one can do this. Some people prefer to use a pen and paper and begin to sketch out their ideas, others may use wireframe software such as Balsamiq Mockups, which essentially sketches out your concept ideas as well, the difference is that you have a number of out-of-the-box drawings that allow you to mess around with all the different web elements.

Creating a Landing Page: Getting Inspiration Ideas

The process of creating a landing page for me all begins with gaining inspiration.

Now there are a variety of ways people get inspiration, it ultimately just depends on what works for you. Some may check out other websites, others may go through magazines, gain inspiration from tv commercials, etc.

There really is no right or wrong way, it just is based on how you feel you get the most out of it.

In this post I’ll share with you exactly how I go through the process of inspiration and provide you with the resources I use to get me started – hopefully they will come in handy when you are creating your own theme or template.

How to Create a Premium Landing Page…and Getting Approved

So here I am, I’ve finally decided to take the plunge.

You may be asking what exactly I’m talking about, right? Well, for the past 6 months or so I’ve had this idea to begin a series of posts where I will be sharing with you the exact process I go through when creating a premium landing page template.

I am going to show you EVERYTHING!
